Testimonials

stars

Every lesson is enjoyable and I always feel comfortable which is why these lessons became the highlight of my week.

Ben Shoesmith, 20, Electric Guitar

George took me on as a beginner guitarist and within two years I had passed my grade 5 exam and was performing pieces in the grade 8 syllabus.

James Shields, 21, Electric / Bass Guitar

Tommy loves his lessons and looks forward to attending each week. His development is noticeable and he’s learning and playing music he’s interested in.

Simon Bollon / Tommy Bollon, 12, Electric Guitar

I picked up guitar lessons with George while I was at Leeds College of Music. My lessons really helped me to progress with my guitar playing and helped while I was studying.

Euan Toms, 19, Electric Guitar/Song Writing

George made learning guitar & bass fun & interesting, by taking my taste of music into consideration, & inspired me by showing me new genres to develop my playing.

Joe Haywood, 20, Electric Guitar & Bass

FAQs

How much does each session cost?

Please contact me via phone or email to book your free introduction session. You will be provided with a quote, & given all further info then.

Where do lessons take place?

Lessons are held at either Homefire Studios in Harrogate (18 Freemans Way, HG31DH), my home studio space in Knaresborough (HG5 8EY), or alternatively I travel to home visits in the Harrogate, York & Leeds area if you have an appropriate space available.

Lessons are also available worldwide via Skype, please email me for further details on this service.

Do you have equipment I can borrow?

Equipment is available to borrow during lessons at no extra cost, if discussed prior to lessons. However, I would suggest every person undertaking lessons should have their own instrument to practice on at home between lessons.

Can I learn Electric / Acoustic / Bass?
Yes! Tuition is available for any of these instruments. Also, several of my students have learnt both electric guitar & bass for example.
Do you teach beginners?
Yes, I do! It is very important to establish good technique early on. Some of the biggest success stories I’ve had have been people that have received tuition from day one.
Do you teach grades?

Yes, I can provide tuition for grades 1-8 on electric guitar or bass.

Can you help with school work?

Yes, I am available to tutor course work, and coach solo/ensemble performances at GCSE & A-level.

What age group do you teach?

I am currently teaching people between the ages of 10-65. If you’re a parent looking for tuition for your child / a teenager or adult wanting to progress / or a retiree looking to play the music you’ve always wanted to, then you’re all in the right place.

What styles of music do you teach?
My approach is always to integrate the techniques & knowledge base that you will need to progress, into the music that you love to listen to, & will want to play. Your preferred styles & aims can be discussed at your free introduction session, where we can make a plan tailored to your preferences.
Do you have a DBS (CRB) check?

Yes, I have completed a basic disclosure check, & I am happy to provide proof on request.
